Adblock plus download the xpi file

Can you try setting a direct file link to the addons. Seems to be working, yet….. Or direct from your site? If you cannot download on addons. Hope on addons….. Have test some configs aaaand ……. A logical download dialog with warning in firefox would be nice. When i set security. Adblock Plus 2. Thanks for the update Laura! I thought it was some cynical plot from advertisers to disable a fantastic Adblock Plus product. Summary: From the FF address field, enter about:config Type the following in the search field at the top: xpinstall.

Thank you. A workaround in Firefox ESR is to go to about:config, ignore the warning an find xpinstall. The work-around you posted was a great help to many but should be used with caution, as you advised.

Thank you, Lloyd! Make sure to tell all your friends about Adblock Plus so they can also surf the web in peace! Thank you very much, Laura! I figured Firefox, et. I absolutely love my Adblock Plus add-on and I will never use a browser without it!!!! Thanks for sharing this Peter! Especially on a Saturday, when me and my team jump to work to keep users informed, it makes us happy to hear how much you and others appreciate Adblock Plus!

For a moment I was in advertisement-hell. They have become more agressive and have grown in number to the extreme. What has happened to the internet and how do people without adblock-extensions even survive??

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the quick fix and for the clear communication! We totally agree with you, the internet is unbearable without Adblock Plus. We still hope that the internet as some point realizes that this dependency on ads is unhealthy… Until then, we gladly block them for you!

When they do fix it, will we have to manually re-install add-ons such as yours, or will it happen for us automatically if you know? No need to reinstall! Setting xpinstall. I have version 3. Firefox version is Windows Are you still experiencing this issue? Try resetting all Firefox settings to default, this should be sufficient for your add-ons and Adblock Plus to run smoothtly again. Just found this important info from Mozilla, which answered my above question about automatic re-installation supposedly it WILL be automatic :.

This system is enabled by default, and no action is needed unless Studies have been disabled. Firefox users can check if they have Studies enabled by going to:. Thanks for sharing this here! Lol there is no way this doesnt get fixed soon, or anyone that used firefox with additional plugins for functionality will leave the browser immediately. I totally see how you must have felt! Glad that this information was helpful for you. And I hope everything works again by now! Thank you so much for your appreciation!

Nothing makes us happier than knowing that we have happy users. We are fighting hard to make the web as ad-free as possible and hope that we soon get easy options to contribute to content in another way than watching annoying ads!

Yes, better always keep your Adblock Plus running. We hope Firefox will support it without annoying bugs so you can surf without annoying ads! The internet as a whole has returned to be the incredibly ad-infested shit it really is. This is yet another major, super embarrassing cockup that will cost FF and the whole open source crowd a lot of street cred. POOR show from firefox. Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, we can only wait for Firefox to fix this.

We will update this post if there is any specific solution for Adblock Plus users! Well, I guess some linux users will have to wait for a full firefox update. Sorry to hear that, Peter. Thanks for your patience! Hi there! Hi Peter! As informed by Firefox, no re-installation is required.

As soon as the fix lands properly, all add-ons should be back to normal. ABP disabled on FF It comes back as ABP either corrupt or disabled.

Firefox should have come with ABP by default. Time to move to Chrome, where something actually does work. But it works great on IE for me. I read your replies that Firefox should have rolled out updates…. Do we still have to wait? Should I uninstall and reinstall Firefox??? It also disabled my Kaspersky anti-virus protection!!! I edited your comment a tiny little bit as it feels a little strange to promote competitors on our own site.

Hope you understand! And yes, we agree, FF needs to work on their issues! Since this has happened it really hits home how intrusive and annoying ads are. I have again donated to adblockplus for the incredible work you do to save us from mind-numbing advertising.

We really appreciate it! Moving to Chrome methinks after many happy years with FF. Really stupid on their part. Maybe you can switch back soon. Fingers crossed! Can anyone in fact confirm that there has been a fix via Firefox?

Like other users here, my version FF Find their latest blogpost about the issue here. So please take out that worthless update.

Sorry to hear that, werdew. Adblock is still not working for me! Im considering getting chrome just to get rid of firefox messing up all the time. When will adblock work again? Hi Jen! Firefox Reinstalling ABP worked. Thanks for sharing this Warbirdnut! Keeping our fingers crossed that this will soon be the case for all users.

ABP for firefox addon is still not responding for me. This indeed is a working solution but I recommend only users that understand what they are doing to apply this.

I even tried installing it again but it failed. I need a solution. Hi Moe, I am really sorry to hear that. They promised that no re-installation would be needed. I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it from the site here but Firefox says the installer is corrupt or something??? So now I have no adblock at all. I just updated firefox and ADP is not back. Still shows as disabled.

I am running Firefox So is this issue fixed or still on-going? Do you still have problems? I checked the studies box, but it keeps unchecking itself when I close the options. I also had to click the studies box. It took a few minutes after I checked that box , but after a short while I think less than 30 minutes ABP was on again.

And I hope even more that Firefox gets this under control! This does not happen in Google Chrome. Now you need to change the default Adblock Plus settings. Locate the file adblockplus. You probably don't want that users are bothered with the Adblock Plus icon so you can change extensions.

If you don't want that users get the suggestion to install a subscription when they start Firefox for the first time you also change extensions. Finally you might want to make everybody use the same filter list.
